Domain Your Claim - New Service from WebGo
Posted by | Posted in WebGo | Posted on 27-06-2009
WEBGO the Sydney, Australian based provider of hosting and internet solutions has today announced the launch of its new service ‘Domain Your Claim’.
The service is being hailed by professionals and business owners as “long overdue”, and has been welcomed by the industry as a positive step towards giving entrepreneurs more chance of being found and recognised online.
Domain Your Claim is a service that offers the customer more choice when it comes to registering domain names.
“The service allows the customer to tell us the things they do in their business, or the things that define their company, or themselves, and WebGo works extensively to find the most creative domain names that have a close and substantial connection to their business”. Said James Rowe, Managing Director of WebGo Pty Ltd.
“The service which is a consultancy based service works by allowing the customer to contact WebGo. Our specialists then analyse their business, anc consult with the customer to find out what it is that their business offers. We then present a proposal to the customer on how they can take advantage of their internet presence, by registering additional domain names to drive more traffic to their web site.
And whilst new customers are signing up for the service to see the results of increased web traffic, one customer is happy and has seen the results.
“I signed up for the service, and WebGo proposed that I buy a few more domain names for my web site and reflect my online presence and what I do, and I haven’t looked back at all”. Big Al (Alex) from BigAlsCorporateCars.com
The service is available to new and existing WebGo customers.

WebGo Submission to the Australian Government’s National Filtering Plan
Posted by | Posted in WebGo | Posted on 15-03-2009
WebGo recently put in a submission to the Australian Government’s Department of Broadband and the Digital Economy in relation to the plan to filter, and censor the internet.
On the whole, WebGo as a member of the industry is not impressed with the plan, and made sure the industry is aware of the potential implications for the industry, as well as consumers and the general public.
WebGo also asked many other questions, which the Government has not answered, which deserve to be answered.
You can view the submission made by the WebGo CEO, Jimmy Rowe here.

Company news Update for February 2009

By Jimmy Rowe - CEO of WebGo
International contractors and the local jobs market
Over the last few weeks, we’ve received numerous emails, and correspondence from people in India seeking to offer support in the area of web site design and development, and other areas in the IT development field. Some of the services being offered, whilst being at a lower price were not necessarily considered to be higher quality for what WebGo can get right here in Australia. So… whilst we do our best to engage the international business community, and Indian providers of IT services, WebGo is not looking to contract any international providers to fill the gaps in 2009.
Many of us at WebGo have seriously considered looking at trialling Indian and international contractors, however, for the near future we are strictly looking at Australian contractors to do the bulk of our work. In the current climate, Australia needs all the jobs it can get, and that’s why WebGo is serious when it comes to hiring the best people to be a part of our team from local communities.
WebGo on Social Networking
Our team is seriously expanding our presence among the social networking community. We are so happy with the benefits that it brings. Facebook being one such example, although current interest is limited obviously because of the demographics. Twitter has been providing some leads and interest in our product and service offering. However, currently the highest interest WebGo is getting in the social networking sphere is coming from Linkedin.
Our Linkedin page is currently set to me the CEO, Jimmy Rowe, and profiles my achievments. Please feel free to invite me as a friend, and I’ll happily accept you as a connection.
Linkedin has provided new people in the business community to come out and talk to me and WebGo. I appreciate the effort some people have gone to also in engaging and using the online WebGo poll that is a part of the Linkedin service. I encourage you to logon and have a look at the services on offer from Linkedin. Just think of it as facebook for grownups…

Server colocation in Sydney, Australia a cost effective measure
Posted by | Posted in WebGo | Posted on 10-01-2009
WebGo, the Sydney Australian based web hosting and network solutions provider, has today released a statement outlining 3 reasons why colocating server and critical network infrastructure in Sydney, Australia is a good measure.
The Head of WebGo, Jimmy Rowe was quoted as saying “Australian’s are noted for big and unique things, but what the world doesn’t know about Australia, is its capacity to serve and provide world class redundancy.”
“That’s why we believe Sydney, Australia is a good option for companies, and individuals looking to get a lower cost on colocating servers, whilst capatilising on the close proximity to the Asia-Pacific.”
The WebGo statement that follows outlines the 3 core reasons why business and the individual should contact WebGo to discuss colocation options further.
1.) Sydney, Australia being a data central access point to the Asia-Pacific.
2.) Sydney being a stable, virtually disaster-free location. No earthquake fault lines, no monsoonal rains (floods), etc.
3.) Cost effective location. WebGo also provides competitive pricing for bulk, or larger colocation orders.
If WebGo can outline any of our colocation options further, or arrange for a courier to pickup your critical server equipment to have it deployed within our Sydney based data centre ASAP, then please do not hesitate to get in touch with WebGo today.

New Variations in web addresses: WebGo
Posted by | Posted in WebGo | Posted on 24-06-2008
Broadway, Sydney - The internet could be set for one of the biggest shake-ups in its brief history if the web’s regulator votes this week, as expected, to allow new domain names such as .city or .blog
The vote by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), which began its annual general meeting in Paris on Monday, would open up millions of new variations for web addresses.
