Setting up Email on Android 4.4 (KitKat)

Open the Email application from the App Tray.

This will take you to the Account setup screen.

Here, enter the e-mail address and associated password of the account you are creating.

When you are certain you've entered the information correctly, tap Manual setup.

You will now select the type of account you wish to set up. We suggest that you utilize the IMAP protocol, as messages will not be downloaded to your device, but kept on the server. This method of reading your e-mail protects your messages from corruption and data loss. POP3 will "pop" mail off of the server to the device, and will not leave a copy on the server unless specifically configured to. Exchange is not used at the time of this article's publication.

Select your desired protocol (POP3 or IMAP). You will then see the following screen:

This is where you will set the Incoming settings for your email account. The list below contains specific information about each item:

Username: On our servers, your username is the full e-mail address of the account (e.g. email@domain.com). The E-mail Address field and Username fields should match.

Password: Enter the password for this e-mail account.

Server: This is the hostname of the mail server to be used for this account. We highly recommend using the server's hostname (server.hostname.com) for SSL compatibility.

Port: This should be "993" if you are using IMAP, and "995" if you are using POP3.

Security type: "SSL/TLS" will provide the greatest compatibility with most mailservers, and we highly recommend selecting it here, as you may have issues receiving mail otherwise.

IMAP path prefix: This field is optional and can be safely left blank.

When you are certain all information is correct, tap Next. You will then see the following screen:
